The First Microscope
Three Dutch men invented one of the
first microscopes in the 1500s. It was
made of several lenses connected by a
hollow cylinder, or tube. The top lens
that people looked through was the
eyepiece. The lens at the bottom was
an objective lens. Together, the lenses
made objects look about nine times
larger than they actually were.
